Ahoy! We are Ron and Charity Elder and we are very happy to have you follow us as we cruise the world (very slowly) on SV Maelstrom.

A little about us:

Ron was born and raised in the Kootenays of British Columbia, Canada, and grew up playing competitive hockey. He moved to Calgary in his late teens and spent his career as an IT professional at a variety of companies, mostly in the energy sector.

Charity was born and raised just north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She moved to the UK in her late teens and then to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 2001. She spent her career in project management, also mostly in the energy sector.

We met at work in 2005 and were married in 2009, bringing together our incredible sons Daniel Elder and Jacob Woodall. We happpen to share a birthday (albeit 17 years apart). Our common love of travel and adventure was the catalyst for our very happy life together and the inspiration for our post-retirement plan to sell everything, buy a boat, and spend the rest of our days sailing around the world.

We love wine, food, scuba diving, Disney, country music, F1, halloween, the Calgary Flames, our fiends and family.
